Patrice Payne is a visual artist and an educator on a passionate quest to create meaningful content that evokes visibility, cultural awareness, and interconnectivity. Since receiving an MA in Art & Design Education from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Patrice has worked for several organizations and schools designing and teaching art curricula. In 2011, she led a free arts workshop called Act with Art, which encouraged youth to use art to explore social and cultural issues in their communities. She resumed this workshop series in the Fall of 2018 at The Young Women’s Leadership School of the Bronx. She has received grants from the Puffin Foundation, Ltd., Brooklyn Arts Council, and Citizens Committee for New York City and has presented her work in several exhibitions throughout the Northeast.
